Birthplace Distribution of Canadian NHL Hockey Players
So much has been made of statistics regarding Canadian born NHL players that I eventually broke down and attempted to give credibility to those stats from a thematic perspective. I began in the late 1980’s by compiling stats for Canadian born players into a spreadsheet which ultimately evolved into a database. Outside HockeyDB.com, I may have been the first to do this. From the database, I was able to define a number of queries that are part of the presentation in the map itself. The only downside to the stats is that it could not account for Canadians born outside Canada. The map was fun to work on and the results of the queried that you see on the map even surprised me.
