The Alberta River Guides

The Alberta River Guides were conceptualized following the successful creation of a river guide for the 2008 David Thompson Brigade event. In that publication, the route was laid out between Rocky Mountain House Alberta and Thunder Bay Ontario. Because of the nature of the event, the river guide was designed not only to contain maps of the route but as well historic information as well, as it pertained to David Thompson.

The map or river guides now being designed will contain not only historical information, it will also contain other information as well that will help educate those who spend time on our major recreational rivers. Currently, the North Saskatchewan map data is complete and the process of collecting the appropriate information is underway. Layout and eventual publication is expected to be completed by March 2010. In progress currently is the collection of map data for the upper Red Deer River. Other rivers will soon follow. Below is an example of the upper North Saskatchewan River.
