In Search of the Passage to China 1747-1811

Between the middle 18th and early 19th Centuries, Explorations along northwestern North America were held on land and at sea to locate a passage to china. This map is meant to identify those explorations at sea and those on land that lead to the conclusion in the search for the elusive passage and who ultimately succeeded in finding it.

All prominent explorers are shown on this map detailing their routes and significant points of interest in order that one may have an overall picture of 60 years of exploration. The research is now completed and the thematic map is in the design phase.

After consultation with historians, the map will be released for publication.
